Scope

This broadcast will provide information about the incidence, prevalence and mode of transmission of HIV.

The program will outline risk assessment and testing procedures for HIV, including pre- and post-test counselling, confidentiality, post-exposure prophylaxis and when to test for hepatitis C.

The panel will discuss models of clinical care available to General Practitioners and other health professionals, and address the psychological, emotional and social issues associated with living with HIV.

The broadcast will also provide information about resources available to health care workers to assist in treating and caring for people with HIV.
